Starlet is the final book in the Sinister fairytales collection. Did they save the best for last? I think they saved one of the best for sure. Now, I’m not familiar with Anastasia nor have I read this author before but nonetheless I was blown away by this book.
I am going to have to keep this review short and vague as to not give away anything at all. This book is not for the faint of heart. It is sinister and dark and suspenseful. You will be on the edge of your seat as you become captivated by this story, these complex broken characters with tragic pasts and the phenomenal way this author weaves together their story in a way that it unfolds throughout the book to keep you intrigued and engaged. This book is hot and steamy and it will definitely melt your kindles. But it also has some frustration going on and you will want to scream at times too.
All and all I really enjoyed this last book in the Sinister Fairytales collection. But I happen to really love dark romance and will definitely check out this author again. If you have triggers and aren’t a big fan of dark romance then this is probably not the book for you.

My Review
Zhànshì by Anna Edwards is another great addition to the Sinister Fairytales collection. This is a dark retelling reminiscent of Disney’s Mulan.
This is the story of Lia, our modern day Mulan. Lia has gone undercover as Zhan in the Yi Shu( one of the Two Chinese gangs/Mafia running California), and that is where she meets Jaxon. A warrior serving in the Yi Shu. They have instant connections with one another. While he may not understand why he’s having such strong feelings for this man(which we know is not actually a man at all)
Before too long the truth will be revealed and Jaxon and Lia will have more problems on their hands. Will he be able to keep her safe when the others find out who she really is? Jaxon understands that she has such strength that she could be the difference in whether they will be celebrating a victory or defeat.
This was a modern take, with a old world feel to it. Like it had modern day gadgets, but seemed somewhat old in weaponry as the like.

My Review
Winter’s Arrow is a dark retelling of Snow White and part of the Sinister Fairytales collection. While this is totally not my genre. Shapeshifters and post- Apocalyptic worlds are not something that captures my attention, I will say this book was very well written the details were great. I think overall it was a good addition to the sinister fairytales collection. This just wasn’t my typical type of book. However I think the author did a great job with it. This is sure to be fabulous for fans of both of retellings and shifter/PNR!

Abducted is yet another Ah-ma-zing addition to the Sinister Fairytales collection. This Beauty and the Beast re-telling is the most perfect combination of a really dark and twisted falling for her captor/mafia romance. It was so much more than I was expecting.
It’s clear from the blurb and the title alone you are dealing with a woman who has been abducted. So right away you’d think that it’s a clear case of Stockholm Syndrome, right? However with Belle/Arabella and Domenico it’s so much more than that. They have this instant insane connection. He’s mean, nasty and does things that should most definitely be unforgivable to her. There’s a method to his madness though. The more that was uncovered about him the harder I fell for him.
Arabella spent years running away from people like Domenico. She feels things she shouldn’t, and knows deep down he doesn’t know the truth about her. She hasn’t been able to trust anyone in a long time or she can’t trust anything Domenico says to her , especially after the things he’s done to her, or so she thought. I just love her character. My heart broke for her past, but holy moly she was booty kickin chick to the max! When things go off the rails what will happen when she has no choice but to trust him to keep her safe?
Domenico wanted so hard for her to put her trust in him and he knew their relationship was based on more than just lust. He laid claim to her and everyone knew it. I’m obsessed with this character y’all! He didn’t care. He was loyal to those loyal to him and he is all kinds of alpha and delicious! He wanted what he wanted and he took it. When he takes a chance and risks everything to save her will she finally accept that she belongs to him once and for all?
While this is my first ever book by K. I Lynn I can guarantee it will not be my last. She tossed in lots of heartbreaking elements and unexpected moments that hit me right in my feelings and I couldn’t put this book down! It.Was.Fantastic!

Holy Sinister Diamond-Studded Slippers!! This retelling was Phe-nom-enal! A.Zavarelli took classic Cinderella and put a modern, sinister, dark, dirty, and deviously-delicious twist on it. She tossed in lots of heartbreaking elements and unexpected moments that hit me right in my feelings and I couldn’t put this book down! It.Was.Fantastic!
Thorsen Lykken is no ordinary Prince Charming. Tragic events from his past made him the man he is. The reputation he’s earned as an intensely dark and secretive man is an understatement for what truly lies inside this beautifully troubled man. When he meets Ella he is immediately captivated by her innocence and beauty, he’s drawn to her in a way that he’s never been to anyone. He has to have her, so he takes her.
He’s dealing with personal issues and finding it hard to struggle with the balance of conflicts going on inside him. He’s never really dealt with women on his own. However he finds himself very dominant and protective over her where others are concerned. What I loved the most about his character was the amazing transformation we saw. I mean this man was night and day, from the beginning of the story to the end.
Ella was the beautiful and innocent girl living a pretty sad existence. Walking around with the burden of your fathers death on your shoulders and then being abused and mistreated for years by the only other family you have left, had to have been devastating for her. Finding solace at the animal sanctuary near her home. A one night reprieve gifted to her in the form of an invitation to a ball leads to a chance meeting with Prince Thorsen Lykken that will change her life forever.
There are many things that happen after which I won’t go into detail so as not to give spoilers. But ultimately those will inevitably end with her ending up at Thorsen’s estate in Norway. Given all that she goes through in the days surrounding her arrival at Prince Thorsen’s estate I found her character to be resilient and tough and just the balance he needed to his rude and rough. Instead of doing what we all expected she did the opposite, she was so loving and caring and couldn’t help but want to fix this broken man, and fell for him hard core in the process.
“I think I know deep in my soul this is a suicide mission. He’ll never be able to love me back.”
I love this story because it’s such a story of transformation and healing. Now, it’s all kids of devious and dirty and twisted and unexpected and I love that. But I love that the Thorsen we meet in the beginning is not the Thorsen of the end. I love the journey these two broken people went on together. Their love healed each other. It was emotional and angsty and just all around a wonderfully awesome addition to the Sinister Fairytales collection.

Lock is a fairly fast paced darker and sinister re-telling of the original Rapunzel by Brothers Grimm. It is the story of Zell and Frankie. Zell, hardly a princess, but a beautiful girl whose tower is a high rise balcony overlooking New York City. Our prince was more a Mafia prince. Heir to the mafia throne, being groomed to take over the family business. Full of suspense, twists and turns. It will keep you guessing until the very end as to if you will get the outcome you are hoping for. Buckle up baby, it’s gonna be an engaging ride!!

This was a take I wasn’t quite expecting but I liked where she went with it, and I’m glad that we are going to get some more from this world in a future book. This book was the perfect length and it kept me engaged and entertained. It had suspense, mystery, good character development. All in all I was a happy girl so I flew right through it.

🔥🔥- There was some chemistry between the main characters, but due to their ages and the subject matter, it really didn’t allow for much sensual contact! There was one scene, but it wasn’t what I would call a super hot scene but any means. I don’t want to give spoilers. Their kisses were chemistry filled. So there was that. But remember these characters are 18 and this deals with some heavy subject matter. So this was appropriate for this book!

My Review
Holy Moly!! Y’all!! I am loving these Sinister Fairytales and Mirage, OMG! Let me just tell you it’s right up there with my favorites of them. This one is a take on Aladdin. But if you’re looking for it to be just like Aladdin it won’t be. I mean there are a few similarities, but it’s just so amazing all on its own! If you had never even heard of the original story you would still love this.
Axel (our Hero) is this sexy, street fighter with a heart of gold. He grew up rough, tough and poor. But in the street fighting world he’s kicking rear and taking names. When he is approached with an offer to be an exclusive fighter for renowned Heart surgeon Jasper Lafar, it seems almost too good to be true. There is most definitely something untrustworthy about Jasper. But the allure of Jasper’s fiancé, the beautiful and sweet Jaslyn, whom Axel is sure Jasper is mistreating, is too much to resist so Axel accepts the job.
Jaslyn feels trapped, stuck in her pretty dark mansion . No one knows the suffering she endures daily at the hands of her fiancé. She’s a tough girl, she puts up with so much more that most could even fathom. When Axel came along she couldn’t help but be drawn to this gorgeous street fighter who vows to protect her. But will their attraction become too much and will they give into temptation? If Jasper were to suspect they were anything to each other it cost them everything, including their lives. Will they take that risk?
This book is good y’all! I really won’t say more because I don’t want to give anything away. It got me so excited, super frustrated, on edge. It was Angsty and full of suspense. It had heat and sweet moments. It had a frustratingly jaw dropping cliffhanger! Another great addition to the Sinister Fairytales collection!

My Review
Legend was a super quick, faster paced, retelling of the story of Tarzan and Jane. Now, here our story is a little darker and more sinister version, with a paranormal twist. That’s the fated to be together love story of Karzan and Janey that you get. This is my first time reading this author and I thought her writing style was wonderful.
I am really loving the Sinister Fairytales Collections series. So while Tarzan isn’t a fairytale that I cared all that much about and I had never heard to this author before , I still managed to enjoy this book. It wasn’t all that long and did keep me engaged and entertained so I flew right through it. Legend was a great addition to the Sinister Fairytales Collection.

GAH!! Holy Freakin Under the Sea!! This is probably my absolute FAVORITE if the sinister fairy tales yet!! Yes, my friends it’s that fantastic! I’m talking all the Stars 🌟 y’all!
So this is the story of Davina, daughter of King Triton, Princess of Lacuna. Davina’s story is a twisted and amazingly angsty and suspenseful take on The Little Mermaid. She’s one of seven daughters of King Triton. When a mysterious and alluring stranger, Dagen the Blood Axe Viking shows up on her island she quickly captured him and sets out on a quest to serve up revenge and find answers as to who, what, when, where, why, and how he came to be there. The chemistry between them was off the charts hot. It was anger filled and sexually charged and it was EVERYTHING!! 🔥🔥
Dagen was waiting for his chance to escape and serve up some revenge on Davina and her sisters himself. Sent on a mission to the island by his father he began to question everything. He finds himself conflicted when he wants to own her body as much as he wants to harm it. He is brute and gorgeous and all man. I love the dirty talking, manly Viking that he is. Then we see a soft side of him at times when he’s with Davina, this protective side comes out. Good gracious it’s so freakin hot.
There are so many secondary characters in this book that add so much to this story. It literally keeps this story flowing so fast and there isn’t a moment that I wasn’t on the edge of my seat excited and couldn’t wait to see what would happen next. Then Hazel Grace completely obliterated my heart for a minute there and I was left a devastated crying mess. Thankfully she put me back together in the end. This is a must read for those who are fans of the fantasy romance genre. This is such and amazing “re-twisted-telling”! I cannot give it enough stars or recommend it enough.
