Holy Cow my mind is a jumbled mess right now, and I love it! I’m convinced Jewel. E. Ann could write anything and I would devour it. Rom com, yep. Contemporary, absolutely. Romantic suspense, yes please. Her grocery list, all signs point to yes. Anything and everything. Her latest story, Pieces of a Life, book three in the Life series, is just another example of the magnificence of her writing. Her ability to get quickly immerse readers in the story never ceases to amaze me. I know from the very beginning I fell hard and fast for Colten and Josie and couldn’t wait to read their history leading up to present day that has brought these once childhood sweethearts back into each other’s lives. One wanting nothing more that to get back what they lost seventeen years ago. The other set on not giving in to the one that destroyed their heart all those years ago. 

Detective Colten Mosley is fantastic at his job. That job brings him face to face with the one person he’s never really gotten over, the only person he has truly ever loved. Also the person whose heart he obliterated in senior year of high school. Josie Watts was his best friend growing up, until she was his everything. He has always known that given the chance he would never let her go again. No matter what. 

Josephine Watts was a feisty and inquisitive girl when she was young. She definitely had unique interests. But she has always been unapologetically who she is. As she got older the dynamics between her and Colten changed and they became so much more. She thought they were planning a future together but apparently the only future he had in store for her was heartache. 

Seventeen years later both are back in their home town both successful in their careers. Career fields that put them in contact with each other on the regular. Push and pull and old feelings resurface. Then an event  noone could have expected. I was left breathless, warring with what is happening and what it means for the future for Colten and Josie. I am obsessed with this duet already and CANNOT WAIT for the conclusion.

💭Overall Thoughts~ All the delicious back and forth you crave. This second chance, frenemies to lovers, romantic suspense, with a pinch on paranormal/psychic twist is unputdownable and addictive. I can’t get enough of Jewel E. Ann’s writing. Every book is going to instantly grab my attention and hold me prisoner ( lock me up, baby) from the first word to the last. I instantly one-click any of her releases. Her ability to transition from past to present, trope to trope and flawlessly from one characters POV to the other is so smooth and makes it so easy to just plow right on through. This is for sure one of my TOP DUETS of 2022!

My Review

What Lovers Do is an amazingly charming and hilariously adorable and sexy, friends to lovers romance between two individuals who are getting a second chance at love. So while it’s not their second chance with each other, it’s definitely a second chance for sure.

Jewel E. Ann is a one-click author for me and once again she proves why that is in this refreshingly unexpected and unforgettable story.

Sophie is such an amazing character. She’s unselfish and caring and when it comes to relationships maybe a bit gullible. She’s so in love with the thought of being in love it has gotten her into quite the pickle many times. It’s why she finds herself currently stuck in this horrible situation she’s in when she meets Shep at the pet store where he works. He’s gorgeous, charming and loves animals. She sure doesn’t need another complication but… he’s just so perfectly cute and the more time she spends with Shep the more she realizes just how much they have in common. How wonderful he is… for a friend that is, obviously. 🙄 

Shep is competitive, sexy, funny, loves animals and is super attracted to the adorable and quirky Sophie. He loves to go out, play golf and hang with friends. He really wants to explore this new found friendship with Sophie and spend as much time getting to know her as possible. But the more time he spends the more it seems like she’s hiding something.

My Review

The Fate of two cruciverbalists!! 

Book friends, are you ready for your next FAVORITE read of 2021?!?! If you thought The Naked Fisherman was great then you have no idea the brilliance on the way with The Lost Fisherman. PURE LITERARY MAGNIFICENCE!! Gosh Y’all! I get emotional just thinking about this duet. I legitimately have read The Naked Fisherman twice. The Lost Fisherman I have read three times already. I was pacing around waiting for it to hit my kindle and when it did I immediately disappeared to my quiet spot. Trust me when I tell you the conclusion to Reese and Fisher’s journey… It.Did.Not.Disappoint!! 

The journey this book will take you on is so emotionally raw and beautiful and special and exciting and worrying. It’s every emotion under the sun. The characters are so different from who they were in the first book. From the first chapter that had my heart in my throat I knew I was in for a ride of emotions. This was carried out throughout the entire book. Lines tested, boundaries questioned! How far would you go, what sacrifices would you make for the one you love most?! 

Reese is the most amazing person and more than I could have even pictured that she would become. The amount she matures is so astounding. But Fisher is so different too. I loved the journey of discovering who this new Fisher of today is. Learning about his strength and struggles and seeing some lesser confident sides to him this time around. 

I refuse to give any details about this book away because you NEED to go in blind to fully appreciate the situations this book will throw at you. I will say in closing that this was one of my favorite diets I have ever read. I fell so instantly in love with these characters and this second book, their changes  only made me fall deeper in love with them. Almost like falling in love with them all over again. Grab this phenomenal duet today!! 🥰🔥♥️🥰🔥♥️ Truly I would give it 10 Stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ if I could.

My Review

Oh my heavens!! THIS BOOK! GAH! The deliciousness y’all! I need more now! Reese and Fisher are fire and just a straight up force of feelings overload. This book totally crosses the lines of a multitude of tropes, each one in itself fantastic, but combined made for an explosive and uniquely magical start to Reese and Fisher’s journey. 

Fisher is gorgeous, sexy, rugged and irresistible. He is the last person that should be occupying eighteen year old Reese’s mind, but that’s just what he does. Despite his close friendship with her mother he still finds himself inexplicably drawn to her as well. I loved these characters so much. There is something so intriguing about the doe eyed innocence of Reese. She is discovering who she is out from under the strict umbrella she’s been under for the last five years.

With Fisher, there is just something so unapologetically honest and blunt and that just makes you loud out loud. It’s so addictive and refreshing.

I’m obsessed with the ways Jewel gives us real and relatable situations to bring about perfect opportunities to open her up and allow her to experience some of the most wonderfully new and exciting things to ever happen to her. She’s growing and changing as a person and it’s beautiful and powerful to immerse yourself into her journey. Her re-establishing her relationship with her mother, something brewing with Fisher, both different but so critical to building the layers to this complex and unputdownable story. 

The push and pull was top notch in this book. I was yearning and burning at the steaminess between these two. So.Freakin.HOTT! How exciting it is to know we are only halfway through their journey!  FYI…I need The Lost Fisherman more than I need air. 

I would give this book TEN STARS if I could! This book was refreshingly unexpected yet something still managed to land it in one of my top reads of 2021 spots. I just really connected with this book, the characters and the way Reese is just starting to come into herself. So many things about this story takes me back to eighteen year old me. You need to read this and start your own down memory lane and remember the overwhelming unbeatable feelings of first lust and first love. Because this book will transport you back there within the first few pages. So Happy Reading, my friends! 😘

My Review

Well friends, my favorite slice my heart and put it back together author, Jewel E. Ann has written another masterpiece that will impact this girl’s heart FOREVER!! 

For Lucy was so much more than I could have ever imagined I was getting and it was magical. Every tear inducing, gut wrenching, humblingly hilarious, never gonna be the same after this moment. 

This story is so real and raw, so true to life and that’s what made it so much easier for me to fall right into every word, emotion, every sentence. To fall in love with these tragically broken characters and hope and pray they can find true happiness in their lives again. 

This is an amazing story of the lengths of what one person will do to protect the people they love most in the world. My heart broke and it swooned. The absolute sacrifices this person suffered in some ways in silence about many things was astounding. To be loved by someone that much. What.a.dream. Now their life’s circumstances were by no means easy and talk about clawing, kicking and scratching your way back from the depths of despair. But I wouldn’t trade this journey for anything else. I was eye opening, unforgettable and I am forever going to be thinking about these wonderful characters. 

Get ready because Jewel E. Ann brings the tears, the drama, the laughter and every other emotion out there in this not to miss story.

My Review

Holy freaking heartbreak and heartmelting happy every afters! Not what I expected was just that. I didn’t know exactly what I was going to get into going in. It was totally different than what I thought. But it was SO amazing. Elsie and Kael where just phenomenal. Elsie was at this emotionally critical and pivotal moment in her life and she was struggling. Y’all I cried! So so much. I loved Elsie’s character and my heart just broke for her. Her struggles were so understandable and she when finally spoke up for herself she felt like it led to disaster. She is overwhelmed by guilt and the consequences of her actions.

So she sets out to pick up the pieces of their life and hold herself, her family  and everything else together. Then Kael Hendricks comes to town. This sexy young entrepreneur with the weird vegetable name challenges her in so many ways. They have this delicious banter and he is completely unapologetically who he is, and that is both sexy and infuriating. But he also happens to be everything Elsie needs to light her dimmed fire. He is younger, which she doesn’t quite know how to deal with. But he is kind of alpha and swoony and turns every head in town. They have this incredible journey and it’s emotional and riveting and funny and witty. Kael is charming and gorgeous and he is perfect for bringing life back to Elsie. 

This contemporary reverse-age gap, small town romance will make you laugh, cry, fan yourself and swoon. Elsie and Kael are just perfect. I needed him to fix the devastation Elsie was shouldering. Jewel E. Ann knocks it out of the park again. I could not get enough of the truth bombs in the church support group and the small town where everyone knows everything about everyone. All The ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

My Review

Everyone please READ this book! One thing I know for sure is that every single one of Jewel E. Ann’s books will be a gripping masterpiece that will touch your heart in so many delicious ways. I can guarantee it will take you on an epic ride that you will remember for a long time to come. Fortuity was all that and then beyond my expectations. 

I had been hopeful we would get Professor Nathaniel Hunt’s story after the Transcend Duet. So when the author announced that we were getting his story I was legit over the moon excited! ✨

Fortuity is the story of single dad Nathaniel Hunt who’s raising his sassy ten year old daughter and Gracelyn Glock a forty-one year old who’s just became the guardian of her ten year old nephew after a tragedy in her family. This story was everything, my friends. Nathaniel who hasn’t been with anyone in ten years since the death of his wife and Gracelyn who is on a self imposed “man ban” obviously I just knew I was in for a most amazing tale and boy did it deliver. 

I love Nathaniel’s character, actually have since the Transcend Duet. To an outsider he appears stoic, but he melts at the sight of his little girl. His biggest fear is his daughter Morgan growing up and leaving home. Morgan is ten going on twenty. They are just so funny together. He’s always talked to her like a grown up and she’s mature for her age. She’s a total daddy’s girl and their relationship is priceless. This child, y’all. I laughed and laughed! Like seriously tears of laughter rolling down my face. 

When Gracelyn enters the picture she brings a fun side out of Nate that had been buried a long time ago. She was very self conscious about her new role as mother figure and he was reassuring and supportive. I love to see the Nate he was with Gracelyn. 

I absolutely loved Gracelyn’s character. She was quirky, and sweet. She had given up on ever having marriage and kids of her own. When she moved her nephew to the beach and met the new neighbors, Nate and Morgan she was instantly attracted to the widowed single dad. His daughter was just adorable and funny. Gracelyn formed a special bond with Morgan too. Omg the the questions Morgan asked Gracelyn, I Died Y’all! Lol 

I don’t want to give away anything because it’s just so funny and sweet and emotional and I really want you to experience this book as I did. Every page is something new and exciting to discover and enjoy. You will enjoy it. Happy Reading Friends!!

“What took you two so long? Don’t worry, we saved you some cake.” Mr. Hans smiles from his recliner with Hunter on the sofa, her thumbs dancing along her phone screen. Gabe will get along well with her.

“Cake, Morgan?”

My steps falter when I hear Nate’s voice from the kitchen.

Mr. Hans winks at me. “I invited Nate for cake too.”

I nod slowly. “I see. Whose birthday is it?”

“Life is a celebration. Cake needs no excuse.”

So much for having some time to digest what Nate said to me and my flirty reaction to his kiss comment. I put on a neutral face and drag my timid ass into the kitchen.

“Cake, Gracelyn?” Nate glances up from the counter, a knife in one hand and a plate in his other hand.

“Mmm … yes, Gracelyn. You want cake.” Morgan rolls her eyes back in her head as she slowly chews a bite, standing next to Nate.

How am I supposed to look at him when I saw him barely an hour ago and he said he wanted to kiss me, and I returned the desire without the actual kiss? I guess we’re going to be two people who want to kiss but know that it will never happen.

“Thank you.” I take the cake, giving Nate a two-second glance. It’s all I can give him without completely self-combusting into a pile of ashes.

“Mr. Hans … this is so good.” Morgan traipses out of the kitchen.

“It is good. I haven’t had cake in a long time.” I slowly lick the frosting from the fork.

Nate glances at the floor, eyes narrowed, and hunches down. After a few seconds, I move around to his side of the island.

“Did you drop something?”

Hunched like a baseball catcher, gaze still to the floor, he crooks a finger at me.

I set my plate on the counter. “Did you lose a contact lens?” I squat next to him behind the counter.

He lifts his gaze to meet my squinted eyes. The corner of his mouth bends just as his hand slides behind my head and his lips press to mine.

 What the hell?

My lungs freeze while my heart pauses and my mind explodes. There’s no tongue to this kiss, just hungry lips. It knocks me off balance, and I fall to my knees, resting my hands on his shoulders.

Nate pulls back half an inch, letting his lips hover next to mine, the warmth of his breath covering my stunned mouth. “I’m not even sorry.” He shrugs.

My mouth opens as if it wants to speak, but I have no idea what to say.

“Dad …”

Nate bolts up, leaving me on my knees. “Yes?”

“Can Hunter use—” Morgan’s eyes narrow at me, my head barely peeking over the counter. “Gracelyn, what are you doing?”

“I’m …” I give her a tight smile.

Nate says, “Picking up a few crumbs.”

At the same time, I say, “Tying your dad’s shoe.”

His explanation is much better.

Morgan laughs. “Um … okay. You’re both acting weird.”

I climb to my feet.

“Can Hunter use what?” Nate asks.

“Your bike so we can go for a bike ride.”

“Are you going to stay around here?”

Morgan nods. “Pinky swear. We won’t go too far.”

“I’ll need to put the seat down for her.”

“Yes! Thanks, Dad. I’ll go tell her.” Morgan runs out of the kitchen.

Nate covers the cake with plastic wrap and nods to my plate with the half-eaten piece of cake. “Are you going to finish that?”

Cake. He wants to talk about the cake?

My head inches side to side.

“Too good to let it go to waste.” He picks up the plate and finishes my cake.

YOU KISSED ME!

“By the way …” His gaze remains on the plate as he scoops up the last bite. “Morgan knows I know how to tie my own shoes.”
