For Lucy by Jewel E. Ann is now live!

*This story contains sensitive subject matter.

From USA Today & Wall Street Journal bestselling author Jewel E. Ann comes a novel so heartfelt and real it redefines the meaning of love.

Once I confess my true identity and convince her I’m not a creep–just a thief–it’s only a matter of time before my sexy smile and quick wit claim her heart, her hand in marriage, and the perfect life.

Unfortunately, perfection is an illusion, like the promises of our wedding vows. No one can prepare for the unimaginable–the heartbreaking exception to all the rules in life.

When thirty seconds destroys everything, I have to find a new existence and keep my promise to always love our daughter, Lucy, the most.

For Lucy, I will keep a secret, and I will watch my wife drift into the arms of another man.

Given the chance … can I reclaim my wife and the pieces of our life?

My Review

Well friends, my favorite slice my heart and put it back together author, Jewel E. Ann has written another masterpiece that will impact this girl’s heart FOREVER!!

For Lucy was so much more than I could have ever imagined I was getting and it was magical. Every tear inducing, gut wrenching, humblingly hilarious, never gonna be the same after this moment.

This story is so real and raw, so true to life and that’s what made it so much easier for me to fall right into every word, emotion, every sentence. To fall in love with these tragically broken characters and hope and pray they can find true happiness in their lives again.

This is an amazing story of the lengths of what one person will do to protect the people they love most in the world. My heart broke and it swooned. The absolute sacrifices this person suffered in some ways in silence about many things was astounding. To be loved by someone that much. What.a.dream. Now their life’s circumstances were by no means easy and talk about clawing, kicking and scratching your way back from the depths of despair. But I wouldn’t trade this journey for anything else. I was eye opening, unforgettable and I am forever going to be thinking about these wonderful characters.

Get ready because Jewel E. Ann brings the tears, the drama, the laughter and every other emotion out there in this not to miss story.

✨Star Rating-  All the stars aligned for this perfect book and it deserves every one. ✨✨✨✨✨✨

🔥Flame factor- As always Jewel’s books are sweaty, sexy and oh so swoony!! Heck yes!  🔥🔥🔥🔥

🌪Cliffhanger warning- no cliffhanger. Tear jerker HEA of Perfection!! 🥰🥺🥰🥺

My Review

Holy freaking heartbreak and heartmelting happy every afters! Not what I expected was just that. I didn’t know exactly what I was going to get into going in. It was totally different than what I thought. But it was SO amazing. Elsie and Kael where just phenomenal. Elsie was at this emotionally critical and pivotal moment in her life and she was struggling. Y’all I cried! So so much. I loved Elsie’s character and my heart just broke for her. Her struggles were so understandable and she when finally spoke up for herself she felt like it led to disaster. She is overwhelmed by guilt and the consequences of her actions.

So she sets out to pick up the pieces of their life and hold herself, her family  and everything else together. Then Kael Hendricks comes to town. This sexy young entrepreneur with the weird vegetable name challenges her in so many ways. They have this delicious banter and he is completely unapologetically who he is, and that is both sexy and infuriating. But he also happens to be everything Elsie needs to light her dimmed fire. He is younger, which she doesn’t quite know how to deal with. But he is kind of alpha and swoony and turns every head in town. They have this incredible journey and it’s emotional and riveting and funny and witty. Kael is charming and gorgeous and he is perfect for bringing life back to Elsie.

This contemporary reverse-age gap, small town romance will make you laugh, cry, fan yourself and swoon. Elsie and Kael are just perfect. I needed him to fix the devastation Elsie was shouldering. Jewel E. Ann knocks it out of the park again. I could not get enough of the truth bombs in the church support group and the small town where everyone knows everything about everyone. All The ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

My Review

Everyone please READ this book! One thing I know for sure is that every single one of Jewel E. Ann’s books will be a gripping masterpiece that will touch your heart in so many delicious ways. I can guarantee it will take you on an epic ride that you will remember for a long time to come. Fortuity was all that and then beyond my expectations.

I had been hopeful we would get Professor Nathaniel Hunt’s story after the Transcend Duet. So when the author announced that we were getting his story I was legit over the moon excited!

Fortuity is the story of single dad Nathaniel Hunt who’s raising his sassy ten year old daughter and Gracelyn Glock a forty-one year old who’s just became the guardian of her ten year old nephew after a tragedy in her family. This story was everything, my friends. Nathaniel who hasn’t been with anyone in ten years since the death of his wife and Gracelyn who is on a self imposed “man ban” obviously I just knew I was in for a most amazing tale and boy did it deliver.

I love Nathaniel’s character, actually have since the Transcend Duet. To an outsider he appears stoic, but he melts at the sight of his little girl. His biggest fear is his daughter Morgan growing up and leaving home. Morgan is ten going on twenty. They are just so funny together. He’s always talked to her like a grown up and she’s mature for her age. She’s a total daddy’s girl and their relationship is priceless. This child, y’all. I laughed and laughed! Like seriously tears of laughter rolling down my face.

When Gracelyn enters the picture she brings a fun side out of Nate that had been buried a long time ago. She was very self conscious about her new role as mother figure and he was reassuring and supportive. I love to see the Nate he was with Gracelyn.

I absolutely loved Gracelyn’s character. She was quirky, and sweet. She had given up on ever having marriage and kids of her own. When she moved her nephew to the beach and met the new neighbors, Nate and Morgan she was instantly attracted to the widowed single dad. His daughter was just adorable and funny. Gracelyn formed a special bond with Morgan too. Omg the the questions Morgan asked Gracelyn, I Died Y’all! Lol

I don’t want to give away anything because it’s just so funny and sweet and emotional and I really want you to experience this book as I did. Every page is something new and exciting to discover and enjoy. You will enjoy it. Happy Reading Friends!!

“What took you two so long? Don’t worry, we saved you some cake.” Mr. Hans smiles from his recliner with Hunter on the sofa, her thumbs dancing along her phone screen. Gabe will get along well with her.

“Cake, Morgan?”

My steps falter when I hear Nate’s voice from the kitchen.

Mr. Hans winks at me. “I invited Nate for cake too.”

I nod slowly. “I see. Whose birthday is it?”

“Life is a celebration. Cake needs no excuse.”

So much for having some time to digest what Nate said to me and my flirty reaction to his kiss comment. I put on a neutral face and drag my timid ass into the kitchen.

“Cake, Gracelyn?” Nate glances up from the counter, a knife in one hand and a plate in his other hand.

“Mmm … yes, Gracelyn. You want cake.” Morgan rolls her eyes back in her head as she slowly chews a bite, standing next to Nate.

How am I supposed to look at him when I saw him barely an hour ago and he said he wanted to kiss me, and I returned the desire without the actual kiss? I guess we’re going to be two people who want to kiss but know that it will never happen.

“Thank you.” I take the cake, giving Nate a two-second glance. It’s all I can give him without completely self-combusting into a pile of ashes.

“Mr. Hans … this is so good.” Morgan traipses out of the kitchen.

“It is good. I haven’t had cake in a long time.” I slowly lick the frosting from the fork.

Nate glances at the floor, eyes narrowed, and hunches down. After a few seconds, I move around to his side of the island.

“Did you drop something?”

Hunched like a baseball catcher, gaze still to the floor, he crooks a finger at me.

I set my plate on the counter. “Did you lose a contact lens?” I squat next to him behind the counter.

He lifts his gaze to meet my squinted eyes. The corner of his mouth bends just as his hand slides behind my head and his lips press to mine.

 What the hell?

My lungs freeze while my heart pauses and my mind explodes. There’s no tongue to this kiss, just hungry lips. It knocks me off balance, and I fall to my knees, resting my hands on his shoulders.

Nate pulls back half an inch, letting his lips hover next to mine, the warmth of his breath covering my stunned mouth. “I’m not even sorry.” He shrugs.

My mouth opens as if it wants to speak, but I have no idea what to say.

“Dad …”

Nate bolts up, leaving me on my knees. “Yes?”

“Can Hunter use—” Morgan’s eyes narrow at me, my head barely peeking over the counter. “Gracelyn, what are you doing?”

“I’m …” I give her a tight smile.

Nate says, “Picking up a few crumbs.”

At the same time, I say, “Tying your dad’s shoe.”

His explanation is much better.

Morgan laughs. “Um … okay. You’re both acting weird.”

I climb to my feet.

“Can Hunter use what?” Nate asks.

“Your bike so we can go for a bike ride.”

“Are you going to stay around here?”

Morgan nods. “Pinky swear. We won’t go too far.”

“I’ll need to put the seat down for her.”

“Yes! Thanks, Dad. I’ll go tell her.” Morgan runs out of the kitchen.

Nate covers the cake with plastic wrap and nods to my plate with the half-eaten piece of cake. “Are you going to finish that?”

Cake. He wants to talk about the cake?

My head inches side to side.

“Too good to let it go to waste.” He picks up the plate and finishes my cake.

YOU KISSED ME!

“By the way …” His gaze remains on the plate as he scoops up the last bite. “Morgan knows I know how to tie my own shoes.”

Excerpt I jumped, shutting my computer, and glanced up at Graham paused at the threshold to my room, loosening his red tie. He always looked handsome in a suit and that red tie I gave him for his birthday. I didn’t expect to see him. My assistant said he was at the Governor’s Mansion. I rarely stayed there, but he used it as an occasional “getaway.” Probably from me. So when she told me he was there, I made the assumption (actually hoped) he’d decided to stay the night and get some work done.“It’s not even seven.” I tucked my bare feet beneath me, still wearing my navy skirt suit and silk scarf—my long hair in loose curls down my back and around my shoulders just like Graham liked it. He took calculated steps toward me, completely untying his tie, letting it drop to the floor before working the buttons to his starchy white shirt. I tried to forget my internet search, not that it mattered because I couldn’t hide anything from my husband. He elicited a warring of emotions from me. An icy tingle slithered along my spine, making every muscle rigid, while the warmth in my heart fed on the way my pulse reacted to his proximity, the way it always had done. That never changed. It was how I knew we weren’t broken. “Did you miss me?” He smirked, shrugging off his shirt, revealing his defined torso—abs for days beneath a thin smattering of dark hair on his chest. I was the envy of so many women. Every day I reminded myself of that. “Nice scarf.” He knelt in front of the chair. I returned a nervous smile, hoping the man before me was the man I loved. Graham untied the scarf, sliding it from my neck as slowly as he’d slid off his tie just seconds earlier. The scarf floated to the floor. Gentle fingers swept my hair off my shoulders, exposing my neck. With the same feather’s touch, he traced the bruises. “It’s nothing …” His lips replaced his fingers, kissing my neck. “You’re fine. Right?” I wanted to believe him. Could denial become truth if we just believed hard enough? “I’m fine,” I murmured, closing my eyes. “Want me to show you how much I missed you?” he whispered next to my ear.Was he asking me for permission? Governor Graham demanded me. Pre-marriage, pre-Governor Graham asked … begged me to surrender to him

My Review

OH-M-FREAKIN-G!! I didn’t think anything could rival the Transcend Duet in my eyes(my love knew no bounds with Griff and Swayze )However, I really believe Jewel has done it. What a tragically tangled web she weaved with this duet. Oh my dear book friends,  I don’t think there is enough yoga or meditation I could have done in this world to give my mind preparation for the epic mindfucking it was in for.

This book was the best of everything(book and movie genres) all at once. It was a suspense, a paranormal, the best kind of love story, a story of the strongest bonds of friendship. It was creepy and disturbingly awesome. It was the kind of book where you can be rooting for your characters at the same time you want to clobber them for being blind to what’s in front of them. This is one of those fantastic books where you literally suck in breath in outrage and your hubby or kid looks at you from across the room and goes “what the hell was that? You sounded like you were choking.”

The truth could right the wrong of a lie, but nothing fixed the truth. His love was ugly and so was his truth.

There wasn’t a dull moment in this book, from chapter to chapter I was on the edge of my seat wondering was was around the corner for Ronin, Evie, Lila and Graham. The lies, the secrets, the manipulation. Holy shit the way everything was coming together was terrifying yet awesome. I legit couldn’t put this book down. I didn’t just read it, I savored it at the same time I devoured it. When I did have to stop to “adult” I swear I was like jonesing to get back to it. Lol

Y’all, I am in awe at the brilliance of Jewels mind.  This is a book that is told in multiple people’s POV(all four main characters) and it never gets jumbled or confusing, the different details that spanned years in this book were so on point. I swear I went through every emotion I had while reading this book. Love, lust, happy, sad, fear, disgust, despair, utter devastation, frustration, depression, elation and I can promise you I will read this duet again. IT WAS THAT GOOD!!

My Cr8zysockbookblock blog wrap up for this book!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐⭐⭐️- I’m officially Dead!! This particular Jewel Ann diet has emotionally slaughtered me! Going in I just was so unsure what the outcome would be so I was terrified. If you have read her books you know she ain’t scared to gut a bitch!! Lol I’m so glad I hung in there. This book was worth every tear and raised moment of BP and heart palpitations. And all the people said AMEN!🙏🏻

🔥🔥🔥🔥- Ronin and Evie we’re still hot but there was a lot of stress and struggle for them in this book. When they got on it though. Hot as ever! 🔥🧨🔥

🌪Cliffhanger Warning- This book doesn’t end on a cliffy. Yay! Now is it a HEA for all. NO! Do I think you all will be happy ever after with the ending, Yes. You will understand this more after you read it. Sorry not sorry,  but spoilers suck!!

My Review

Y’all I’m in tears as I write this.😭 I legit don’t know how on earth I am supposed to function, how in the ever lovin’ world I am supposed to get up every day and adult until I know what happens.  Until I know how this plays out. Evelyn “Evie” and Ronin’s story will burrow into your heart ♥️ from the moment they meet and you won’t be able to let them go. EVER!

When we first meet Evelyn she’s on a trip with her best friends Lila and Graham. They are a huge part of her life. Lila whom she has known for most of her life and Graham who she briefly dated in college for like a second before realizing they are better at being best friends. There is such a strong bond and history with them intertwined over the years.

Ronin Alexander is this amazingly gorgeous, world traveling man, a super hero adventurer. A chance encounter over bubble tea and hot buns on his last day in Vancouver before leaving for a new job in Aspen, he meets the beautiful Evie -and later that night Lila and Graham. He knew from the first look across the table in the tea shop,  this body soap making scientist would change his life forever. But Ronin was keeping secrets from Evie. From day one he’d been hiding behind secrets and lies to protect her. What happens when the secrets and lies start to pile up? When he has to look back on every decision he’s made would he change anything?

Evelyn’s character was phenomenal. She was so strong. She was in her mid thirties and had her crap together. She was successful and had a really cool business. She has her good friends, her parents. Then she meets this amazing man. Ronin was everything she was missing and didn’t even realize she was missing until she found him. GAH! They were nothing short of spectacular together. Every touch , every kiss, every moment they had was pure magic. I couldn’t have loved this couple more. They are perfect together. I loved their love. I love the way they view the word love. What it meant to them as a couple. You will know what I’m talking about when you read this.

When things began changing I really started to get terrified because I remembered back to the prologue and I’m not gonna lie I’m scared y’all! I have a feeling I’m in for the big D. Yup, DEVASTATION!  I wanna beg, borrow and steal, do whatever I can to ensure everything is okay at the end of book two. Because right now I AM NOT OKAY!!

PSA- Check on your book buddies that just finished book one y’all, because we are not okay right now. 😭We need to form a circle of friends and hug it out, let the feelings flow my sisters. 😢😭😢😭

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐⭐⭐️- I’m officially in AWE!! Jewel Ann’s books always do this to me! I know going in I’m gonna get an emotional beat down! ( and she served it to us with a sweet little smile on her face) This was emotional, but it was funny and hot too. It was also so happy and  swoony and frustrating. That Cliffy though! GAHHH!

🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥- Ronin was the most adorable gentleman and then Alpha  AF in the sheets, or the shower or the floor. Holy Hot Dang!Talk about moanin for Ronin! Y’all it was the hottest thing ever! 🔥😍🔥

🌪Cliffhanger Warning- 🌪🌪🌪🌪🌪OMG!! I literally was bawling 😭 my eyes out at this cliffy. I need to know what happens like I need Air in my lungs.

LTM - AN

ExcerptI wasn’t opposed to the occasional drunken one-night stand, but not with Evelyn. We weren’t drunk, and I wasn’t okay with an arbitrary time in the future that I may or may not see her again. “I’ll walk you to your door,” Evelyn said as she turned off her Jeep. “God …” I laughed, shaking my head. “That’s messed up. Now I feel a huge urgency to get my own vehicle. I think I’ll go tomorrow to buy one just so you don’t ever have to walk me to my door again.” She climbed out. “I don’t have to stop at your door. We don’t have to play by the rules of dating. I think we’re past that age. How old are you?” I found her hand and led her to the front door. “Thirty-five.” “I’m thirty-four. Have you ever been married?” We stopped at my door and faced each other. “No. You?” She shook her head. “The rules don’t apply once you’re past thirty.” “The rules?” Evelyn grinned. “The courting shit. The baseball game.” “The baseball game?” My head canted to the side. “Yeah. The sexual bases? First base is kissing. Second base is—” “Yes.” I fished my keys from my pocket. “I’m familiar with the bases.” “Well, I don’t know if you’re a fan of baseball or not, but I am.” I unlocked my door and motioned for her to go inside. She wet her lips and stepped into my condo without an ounce of hesitation. “You’re inviting me in. So you are a fan of baseball.” Not so much. Skiing, football (soccer), rugby, cycling, tennis … but not baseball. However, something told me Evelyn might make me a baseball fan. “Are you sure you’re living here?” She glanced around at the sparse furnishings of my two-bedroom condo. “I never stay in one place long. No need to own much. It’s just that much more to sell or move.” Books. I owned books and a place to sit and read them. My parents didn’t believe in letting Julien and I watch television while we were growing up. Julien embraced art. I embraced fiction—mysteries and sci-fi. “What do you consider not long?” She ran her fingers along the back of my leather recliner before dropping her bag to the floor and slipping off her jacket. “Three to five years is a nice stay.” I tossed my coat onto one of two barstools at my kitchen counter. “Okay. So our marriage will be short.” Her teeth trapped her full bottom lip. “Probably.” I’d dated enough women to know there existed a sequence of events that took place way before the M word should ever be discussed. I’d never reached the point of discussing the M word. Not even with my longest relationship, which lasted two years. Two years and we didn’t talk about marriage. I was out of my realm of experience with Evelyn. We joked about marriage, but who joked about that? Then there was a baseball discussion happening, and I didn’t even like baseball, but I waited with restless anticipation for Evelyn to make her point. Something told me it could be brilliant. “Kenny was a guy I dated my first year in college. He played baseball.” I could not have cared less about this Kenny guy, but he brought her back to the baseball talk, so I folded my arms over my chest, leaned against the counter, and gave her my full attention as she walked in slow circles around my furniture. A predator with calculated moves. Who was I to judge? I walked into her shop that day and basically said we needed to expedite our dating status—laid out my plans to eat dinner with her, close down bars, and sip hot chocolate. “He was a solid hitter. Always got on base, but he never hit a home run. I honestly think he lacked the confidence to go for it. His coaches told him to just get on base, so that’s what he did because that’s what you do when you’re young like that. You spend a lot of time on the bases.” Were we still talking about baseball in the literal sense? “I think once you hit your thirties, no one should judge if you just hit it out of the park your first time up to bat.” Her lips twisted as she stopped in front of me. “The goal is to hit it home. If you can do that, then why the hell not, right?” I thought I understood the metaphor. But if I was wrong, I could get thrown out of the game. “Can I get you a drink?” Evelyn shook her head. My eyes narrowed, studying her for a few seconds. “First base is fine.” She shrugged. Fuck me …
