My Review

OMG!! I am all about a heart-wrenching, jaw-dropping book y’all! Campfire Chaos was that and then some. This book took  me to the brink of emotional sanity over and over again. K. Webster has me hooked, obsessed with her HoodRiver series and the Hoodlums who run the town. I don’t know what I will do when this series ends but for now I’m going to continue to bask in the amazingness that is this series and dive into every.single.story. This book picks up right where that epic cliffhanger left us terrified and hanging at the end of Little Hoodlum. Cal Hutton and Charlotte English are our couple in Campfire Chaos and their story is a tragically beautiful journey.Their love was born out of revenge and punishment. It’s raw and gritty and devastating. But their journey is probably my favorite so far because it was just so emotional. It left me wrecked in all the best ways and I can assure you this book hangover will last for days to come. 

Calvin Hutton is this gorgeous green eyed god of a man. We first met him in HoodRiver Rat. He is one of the HoodRiver Hoodlums and his best friend is Terrance. From the very beginning of this book he sets out on a quest to punish Charlotte for what she did to his best friend, Terrance. But quickly his brand of revenge/torture becomes more. They are straddling that thin line of love versus hate and it’s hot and powerful and combustive. I love that he thinks he’s this horrible guy but deep down he is a caretaker by nature and cares for everyone around him. I love how all the facets of their lives become entwined. Avoiding each other is impossible. Will he ever forgive her for what she’s done? When her past comes back to haunt her will he protect her only so that he can be the one to destroy her?

Charlotte English is the younger sister of Hollis English aka “the Rat.” She is just coming out of the worst year of her life. She made mistakes that cost her things she won’t ever be able to get back and she is ridiculed for them daily. She understands why Cal is so angry, but she doesn’t understand exactly what he wants from her, or why she wants so badly to give it to him! 

Charlotte broke my heart over and over again. I swear I could feel her pain. She is not only trying to move forward, but she is plagued with guilt and struggling with bullying, fighting her confusing feelings for Cal and then her past just won’t leave her alone. It’s too much for one person to handle. But our girl, Charlotte is so strong. She’s beautiful and resilient and she will claw, kick and scratch her way back from the dark hole she was in. I love the strength she found in herself! But will that strength be enough to save herself when her demons come calling?

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐⭐-Overall this book was another great addition to the HoodRiver Hoodlums Series. I couldn’t be happier with the way things ended for Cal and Charlotte!! I’m So Obsessed with them. It was so full of confessions of feelings and forgiveness, laying it all out there. It was full of revenge, suspense, angst, GAH the sex!  Man the banter, blood, tears,sexual tension. My heart hurt the whole time! 💔 All the pieces of this puzzle going on, fabulous!! I was full of frustration for them at times to just get it together! The characters are fantastic and complex and I loved her to oncover each layer to see who they are at their core and they were phenomenal. I wish there were more! TBH I’m not ready to let Cal and his loser parasite go!
