Evil Love by Ella Fields is an exciting new bully/ enemies-to-lovers romance. I love, love, love Ella Fields. When I see she has a new book coming, my fingers are smokin as they fly across the keyboard so fast to sign up to get it. Her writing nearly always blows me away. However, while I wouldnโt say Evil Love, is my favorite Ella Fields book to date it was still a four star read for me. Full of conflict, crushing cruelty, intrigue, mystery, unexpected turns of events and a refreshing new take on a bully romance. This completely new and original story line is the first book in Ella Fields’ new Nightingale series and will introduce you to a world of secret societies, deviant behaviors, and jaw-droppingly heinous initiations.
This story, the love story is between Fern and her neighbor who sheโs been majorly crushing on, Jude. Now, I use the term crush lightly because it’s much too loose a term. Fern is quirky and has an obsession with Jude that borders on almost stalking, but I can almost be forgiving of her stalker tendencies because sheโs a little weird, endearing, and cute. But sheโs also a redhead, blue eyed bombshell! She knows every detail about him. I do get the magnitude of a huge crush, Iโm pretty sure I had a similar shrine to Kirk Cameron myself when I was younger, although it was tad less creepy and I at least got all the pics all from Teen Beat magazines. ๐ Anyhoo…
Once she gets the nerve and finally makes her moves and he’s receptive it seems like things might go right for our Fern after all. But then there comes his Ex and he takes a total switchback and heโs just so horrible to her, and Fern, she just takes it. Whatever little breadcrumbs he offers. So itโs a bit hard to accept. I donโt like what he does to her fragile little heart thatโs so devoted to him. The ultimate act of cruelty, I was so devastated and worried for her. Afraid he would crush her. I think maybe thatโs why it took me a bit longer to get on board. But I think sheโs strong too. Sheโs lonely but she knew what she wanted and Jude was it…until he wasnโt.ย
Jude may have been hot and sexy and mysterious with some things he had going on(purposely being vague), but I still struggled with being okay with his back and forth playing with the girl’s emotions. (You will get that when you read it) I did love how he was with his brother, though. That literally melted my heart. โฅ๏ธ I really started to come around to him more as the book progressed, there were reasons as to why he was the way he was. I think he never expected to start feeling the ways he was starting to feel and that was scary, especially given their predicament. He was truly the perfect bully book boyfriend. Sexy, cruel, secretive. He had all the elements Iโm looking for and I really thought the chemistry between him and Fern was off the charts! ๐ฅ
I really loved the secondary characters in this book Silas and Cora, and I am really looking forward to the next book in the series. I think this book set it up nicely for great things to come. Secret Societies, mystery, initiations, depravity. So much goodness and Iโm here for it all! I see it being all kinds of amazingness and Iโm super excited for it!!ย

Just as Iโm turning
the page in my book, someone yells, โWatch out!โ Unsure of where the voice is
coming from, I look to the left and then to the right, but before I can grasp
whatโs happening, the circular object hits my hand, and my book flies out of my
grasp and into the water.
โShit! Iโm so
sorry.โ A half-naked guy comes running over, sand kicking up around him as his
strong legs pound into the ground. The closer he gets, the more of him Iโm able
to see, and holy shit, do I like what I see. Messy brown hair I could picture
running my fingers through, tanned, smooth skin I would enjoy kissing and
licking, and if Iโm feeling frisky, biting.
My eyes rake over
his tattooed, sculpted chest and down to his abs. Two-four-sexโฆ I mean six. God
damn! Look at that six-pack. He must work out, probably several times a day.
Damn, Iโd love for him to work me outโฆ
As he jogs over, his
corded arm muscles flex, making it appear as if the ink on his arms is coming
alive, and I briefly imagine holding on to those arms while he fucks me good

about to snap at him, the corner of his mouth lifts into a nervous smile, and a
single dimple pops out on his cheek, and once again, Iโm momentarily distracted
by just how good-looking he is.
โThanks so much.โ My
reply drips with sarcasm. Taking the book from him, I examine the saturated,
ruined pages, and mumble, โAt least it wasnโt my momโs copy.โ
โIโm Keegan.โ His
half-smile turns into a cocky grin. Oh, hell, noโฆ
โIโm not
interested.โ
He throws his head
back with the most beautiful laugh Iโve ever heard. Itโs raspy and deep and

My Review
I have to say Madness is by far the most dark and insanely twisted retelling of the sinister fairy tales collection so far. This is Ellisonโs story. She is nothing short of insane. Sheโs the driver of the crazy train yโall. She started off the book with her insanity and I was like โoh damn,ย well we going right to crazy town on the first page, okay, okay.โย Now IRL Alice and Wonderland isnโt even a fairytale I care for,ย But I can definitely get on board with this kinda Wonderland! I mean this is a RH (reverse harem) so itโs a sensual and hot and dirty wonderland. Hells yes!ย
I donโt want to give any spoilers away so I will just sayโฆ Get ready!! Prepare to fall down a devious, dark and twisted rabbit hole of madness and mayhem. There was so much going on and it was crazy, and chaotic. It was wild and really dark. It will have everyone going just a little mad at least for a minute. I think this is definitely one of those books I could go back and read again and probably catch something I might have missed out on the first time, because there are so many characters and so much happening at one time.
I am just a fan of dark and twisted, so this is right up my alley. This sinister fairy tales collection is amazing and this is a fantastic part of it. Definitely recommend for those who love twisted tales. If RH or blood and gore offends you, then this is most definitely NOT the book for you. But if you are open minded about those things I think you will love this book!ย
