Stroke of Midnight Blog Tour & Review

Stroke of Midnight by K Webster is now live!

From USA Today bestselling author K Webster comes a brand new forbidden romance that’s going to leave you speechless.
Money can buy anything. And anyone.
As the head of the Constantine family, I’m used to people bowing to my will. Cruel, rigid, unyielding–I’m all those things.
When I discover the one woman who doesn’t wither under my gaze, but instead smiles right back at me, I’m intrigued. Ash Elliott needs cash, and I make her trade in crudeness and degradation for it.
I crave her tears, her moans, her submission. I pay for each one. And every time, she comes back for more.
When she challenges me with an offer of her own, I have to decide if I’m willing to give her far more than cold hard cash. But love can have deadly consequences when it comes from a Constantine. At the stroke of midnight, that choice may be lost for both of us.

My Review

I certainly won’t be reading my kids this flippin’ fairytale. But this momma sure loved this bedtime story. This Cinderella-ish like story is captivating and naughty. It’s an oh so devishly dirty and delicious age-gap romance and is perfection in the most alpha and erotic ways.

Winston, the charming and gorgeously irresistible villain and Ash Elliott who he has so appropriately named his “Cinderelliott.” It’s not a dirty rags to riches story, it’s a coming into your own with your perfectly filthy perverse partner. It’s about discovery and acceptance of just how deep your desires run and being okay with the lengths in which you will go to give into them.

You will be instantly allured by Ash and her foul mouthed fairy god daddy as they come up with a taboo and deviant arrangement that works out to be mutually beneficial for both of them. I enjoyed every second of reading how they worked out the kinks in their arrangement as they went along. 😏

Ash and Winny will test their boundaries, toe the lines of what some of society would consider morally acceptable, at least in their circles and in the end others may hold their desires over their heads. In the beginning this was an agreement with no feelings involved, but will that remain true the longer they’re involved?  Just how far will they go to protect each other?

The entire cast of secondary characters, from Winson’s brother Perry,  Ash’s dad, step-mom, and horrible triplet step brothers, and most of all Shrimp, my favorite bird ever!! All make this book unpredictable, unputdownable, and unforgettable.

This book has so much going on with our fierce and feisty heroine Ash  to the alphahole Winston. You will run the gamut of emotions. It’s so hot, and frustrating. It’s devastating and enraging. One minute my heart is all ooey gooey and the next I’m all raged. It.Was.Awesome.lol Dang that Cliffy though! You still must read it!! ⭐️🖤⭐️🖤⭐️🖤⭐️🖤⭐️

Don’t say I didn’t, say I didn’t warn ya!!  🖤

Excerpt

I don’t want to clean.

I want to sit behind a desk and crunch numbers. Talk shop. Plan expansions. My dad is an economic analyst, which is what I want to be too. I’d always imagined us going into business together and heading up our own firm.

Cleaning won’t get me there.

I suppose playing nice with Manda the Maneater is my only resort at this point.

For the next hour, I rush through all the offices that don’t need much more than the trash cans emptied, and then make it to the CEO’s office. One day, I’ll have an office like Winston Constantine, but I won’t be some old fuddy duddy. I’ll be a boss babe with style. My employees will love me, because I imagine I’ll be cool as hell. Rather than hire a boring interior designer like whatever robot chose the furniture and décor for Halcyon, I’ll do it all myself.

I’m once again daydreaming of my future that seems more and more murky these days as I fumble through my email on my phone to find the code to get into Big Man’s office. Of all the offices, this one is the coldest and most boring. As though whoever Winston Constantine is, he doesn’t do any sort of work, but instead gazes out the windows all day.

Finally, I locate the code and punch it in.

It’s like twelve numbers long, and I fail a few times before it grants me entry. With a sigh of frustration, I push the door open and drag my rolling cart in after me into the dark office. I hit the light switch with my elbow and leave my cart in front of the door to prop it open. I fidget with the dumb uniform skirt I have to wear and wonder if anyone would notice if I wore jeans instead.

I grab the duster and make a beeline over to the painting on the wall. It’s the best part of the office besides the cool desk that moves up and down and the windows overlooking the most picturesque parts of New York City. I touch the bottom of the frame to check for dust. As I imagined it to be, there’s not a speck.

I’m just moving to the bookshelves when I hear a creak.

“You’re supposed to clean it, not pretend,” a deep, furious voice growls, scaring the ever-loving shit out of me.

“What the fuck, man?” I snap, whirling around, dropping my duster in the process. “You can’t just sneak up…” I trail off as I drink in the man sitting in the desk chair.

Holy shit.

Was he here the whole time?

Fucking creepy!

But there’s nothing creepy about his looks. He’s not a fuddy duddy either, if this is Winston Constantine. He’s fine as hell.

Older. Dressed to the nines in a three-piece navy suit that looks custom-tailored and expensive. A handsome, villainous smirk on his face. His dark blond hair is shorter on the sides and longer on top, styled perfectly, making it look as though he came from a photoshoot at Gucci or something. Just enough scruff to give him an edge despite his otherwise clean-cut appearance. It’s his eyes that are mesmerizing.

Dark blue. Intense. Penetrating.

For some reason, it makes me think about my ex-boyfriend, Tate. The exact opposite of this man. Soft and sweet and gullible. Tate and I were a high school thing, but the moment we graduated a couple of weeks ago, we amicably broke it off knowing we were headed in different directions. This guy looks anything but soft, sweet, or gullible.

He looks scary.

Scary hot.

But still scary.

I clear my throat. “Sorry. I’ll just empty your trash and be out of your way.”

“No,” he rumbles, his voice dripping in a menacing tone. “I’ve been waiting for you. It’s time we chat, little girl.”

When I’m in his arms, it’s easy to believe in the fairy tale. Then, tragedy strikes, serving as a soul-crushing reminder that nothing lasts forever.

Several months later, I come face-to-face with the man who still owns nearly every part of me, but one night fueled by alcohol and bad decisions doesn’t change anything.
At least, that’s what I tell myself …

Excerpt

“What are you so afraid of? You think that I don’t know you?” I closed the distance between us and reached for her hand. “You bite the tip of your index finger when you’re nervous. You eat peanut butter straight from the jar and hum when you lick the spoon. Family gatherings make you uncomfortable. And you’re stubborn as hell.”
Emotion swam in her green irises.
I cupped her cheeks between my palms. “I love you with all that I am.”
“Please … don’t do this.” She blinked back the threat of tears.
“I need the words. Tell me you don’t want me. That you don’t love me. Because if you can do that, I’ll walk out that door, and I won’t ever look back.”
Time ticked by as I waited for the words. The urge to press my mouth to hers burned through me, but I needed an answer.
Molly closed her eyes, inhaling deeply, and when she opened them again, it was as though a switch had been flipped. She grasped my wrists, removing my hands from her face, and then took a step back and straightened her spine.
I braced myself for impact.
Her face was devoid of emotion as she delivered the blow. “I don’t want you. I don’t love you.”
Pain ripped through me. I dropped my head to the ground, giving it a shake before I looked back at her. “You win.” I gave her my back and made my way to the door. “Molly,” I said, reaching for the handle.
“Y-yeah?” Her voice cracked, but I didn’t turn around.
Anger and agony twisted inside me, twining into a thickly corded rope. “I never want to see you again.”

My Review

Y’all prepare your hearts! ♥️ K. Street is about to put it through the tumble dryer with this one. Easton and Molly’s story is heartbreakingly real and poignantly perfect. It will give you goosebumps, bring you tears of joy, heartache and fear and happiness and hope!

Molly is beautifully broken. Shattered by a tragic past that she has been unable to over come up until now. She had it all with Easton, but in a pre-emptive move of self-preservation she runs, leaving him devastated, broken-hearted and bitter. She runs into him a few months later on a drunken night out with her BFF, Paige. That leads to a one-night stand hookup. When she returns to her room the next morning, little does she know he’s left her with a parting gift. One that will share both his and her DNA. Whoops!😬

Easton is a really great guy. He’s the world’s best big brother and uncle. Plus he’s devastatingly gorgeous! But Molly obliterated his heart, not once but twice. After the hotel hookup, she keeps showing up and he doesn’t understand why? 🤔He just slams the door in her face moving on. I mean he is straight up nasty to her when she shows up, when she calls, for months. He is purposefully punishing her for what she did to him. When he finds out the truth about why she has been trying to contact him all those months, he’s devastated by his own behavior. That’s because of the kind of guy he is. Not gonna say more about this cause spoilers suck, y’all!

The background of Molly’s upbringing is devastating. It makes sense why she would guard herself and make some of the choices she did. I won’t tell you what those were. I will just say I can see why she would have. Their journey to redemption and forgiveness (on both sides) wasn’t always easy but it was everything!!

This book has a fabulous cast of characters. Some you met in Where Love Ends. I love Molly’s BFF, Paige. I want her story. This book has the perfect amount of sweetness and frustration and hotness. It’s funny where it needed to be and it had awesome flow and I read it really quickly. I didn’t want to stop because I was so invested in Easton and Molly. This is definitely a fantastic read. But I would recommend reading Where Love Ends first. That’s where you will meet Easton first.

⭐️⭐️⭐⭐⭐️- I was an Easton fan in WLE,  but I really love him now.He was patient and sweet and loving. GAH! Molly needed him even when she tried to fight it Grab this book!

🔥🔥🔥🔥- Holy Doodle are Easton and Molly ever Hot 🥵

🌪Cliffhanger Warning- HEA NO CLIFFY! 😍

Blurb: Welcome to their kingdom

Cole Covington is the most popular heartbreaker at school.

Every guy wants to be him and every girl wants to screw him.

Except me.

His devastatingly good looks, golden arm, and flirty smiles don’t do it for me anymore…because I know what’s lurking underneath the star quarterback’s gorgeous armor.

At least I thought I did.

Sometimes the most beautiful people…hide the ugliest truths.

And sometimes the only way to save someone…

is to walk beside them through hell.

Sawyer Church is the bible-thumping nerd of Royal Hearts Academy.

Girls pick on her and guys don’t notice her.

Except me.

Sweet, curvy, and sarcastic, she’s impossible to ignore.

No matter how much I try.

Everyone at school has her pegged as the chubby, Jesus loving geek, but unlike them—Sawyer’s real and never pretends to be someone she’s not.

Until I ask her to be my fake girlfriend.

Sometimes the most beautiful souls…hide the greatest pain.

And sometimes the only way to save someone…

is to fight for them.

Excerpt: I open my mouth to speak, but Bianca beats me to it. “In Cole’s defense, he told me not to hook up with any guys. He never said anything about girls, though.” Smirking, she adds, “Plus, it’s not like he was there. He was too busy hanging out with his new girlfriend, Sawyer.” On second thought, maybe locking her up in the basement isn’t such a bad idea after all. There would be way less shit for her to stir up from down there. I can tell the exact moment Jace processes what she said because the little vein in his forehead makes an appearance. “Sawyer? As in Dylan’s best friend, Sawyer?” “Do you know any other Sawyers?” “I told you to stay away from her.” “You also told me not to fuck Mrs. Bennett, but she ended up giving me an A in history.” “Holy shit. You fucked Cortland’s mom?” Bianca exclaims. We both ignore her. “Look,” Jace starts. “Dylan doesn’t want you hanging around Sawyer. Not after what you did to her.” “I’m sorry, last I checked, I’m a big boy and Dylan doesn’t get to make decisions for me.” “Yeah,” Bianca cheers. Jace’s gaze swings her way. “Go upstairs.” “Whatever.” She fixes her stare on Oakley. “I’m gonna call *** and see if she wants to hang out.” Oakley makes a low growling sound as she scampers away. When she’s out of earshot, he says, “***** is a sweet girl, Jace. You need to put an end to that shit.” Huffing out a breath, Jace motions to me. “Yeah, after I put out the other fire.” “Me dating Sawyer isn’t a fire.” It’s a motherfucking atomic bomb.
