Oh QB Tyler, My Astonishing Angel of Angst. You have done it once again. What Was Meant to Be has whipped itās way right into this gals heart. A staggering and bewitching story that will have you stunned from the start all the way to the explosive ending. If you even mention a forbidden age-gap I practically start drooling. š¤¤GAH! They are so my jam, yall!Ā The heat, the angst, the sneaking around.
HOLY HOT HADES!! š„š„µš„Donāt even get me on a roll about QB Tylers dynamically explosive š§Ø love scenes. I donāt know how she does it but she always manages to blend this perfect amount of tender and soul-uniting moments with down and dirty, toss them under goods they are ruined now, moments. She just casts šŖ her literary spell on me and Iām entranced and under her spell until the last syllable of the epilogue.Ā
I really loved all the characters. Well okay not all *cough, cough Parkerš¤¬) Jacob, Kevin, and Michelle have this amazingly close friendship that has spanned years. As godfather to Kevin and Michelleās two children, Jacob just fit right in as a piece of the family puzzle.
The dynamics of all that could change when the once innocent way he felt about Whitney changes when he has a little too much to drink and stays over at Kevin and Michelleās. Whitney reveals that she has been crushing on him for a long time. She isnāt a little girl anymore. She is a beautiful woman and totally off limits.Ā Everyone knows that forbidden fruit is always the yummiest! šš
Guilt, fear, and loyalty leads to a life changing decision and double dose of heartbreak for our couple. Even if the road was paved with good intentions it can still be one heck of a bumpy ride.Ā
You do not want to miss a paragraph of the heart-wrenching emotions, the angst, and the steam. So full of frustration, lip biting banter, and sinfully wicked chemistry?! OMG the chemistry. A tantalizingly taboo tale of inevitable love that just may have you wondering, can a relationship that has the power to hurt so many people really be What Was Meant to Be? Well in this case⦠I say yes, yes, one thousand times yes!! Five Stars for the H3 Effect! āļøāØāļøāØāļøāØāļøāØāļø
From the Wall Street Journal bestselling author of 44 Chapters About 4 Men (inspiration for the Netflix Original series Sex/Life) comes a dark mafia romance steeped in Irish folklore.
I can’t remember anymore if my grandfather’s eyes were blue or green, but I’ll never forget the way they wrinkled at the corners when he laughed at one of his own jokes. Or the way they sparkled with mischief when he told me tales about the magical creatures that dwelled in the forest behind his humble Irish sheep farm–shy fairies who liked to eat tea biscuits, cruel witches who liked to eat children, a moody lake spirit with a taste for expensive gifts.
As a child, I believed every fantastical word. But when he warned me about the mute boy who also lurked in those woods, the one the priest had declared to be the spawn of Satan himself, I refused to listen. Kellen wasn’t evil. He was kind, and beautiful, and special, and hurting. He was my friend. And with every summer I spent stolen away with him in those enchanted woods, he grew to become so much more.
But when I return to Glenshire as an adult, grieving and engaged to someone else, all those legends quickly morph into nightmares.
My grandfather had been right about everything, especially the boy.
If only I had listened.

Holy Flippinā Four Leaf Clovers!š Devil of Dublin has me DEAD. šLike put a fork in me I am absolutely D-O-N-E, done. This stand-alone, full length, dark mafia romance is a thrilling genre bending tale by the incredibly talented BB Easton. Told in dual POV this is aĀ story thatās both unique and unforgettable. Gritty and gripping to its very core it will gut you. There is violence, darkness, suspense, beautiful Irish setting, and a mystical feel to it with some old Irish folklore. I wasnāt even sure quite what I was expecting going in but I can tell you whatever it was this book by far surpassed it, AND MORE. This book was everything I was looking for to break up the lighter sports romances, and romcoms I have been reading of late. Not that I donāt enjoy them, I do. But I’m a dark reader at heart. š¤Ā (Because Iām naturally sunshiney IRLāļø).Ā Iām really glad that Devil of Dublin was able to fully send me reeling deep down in the dark romance hole where I usually hang with the other disturbed folks like myself. š
Darby Collins goes to Ireland for the first time as a young child. Folklore sends her on a quest through the woods. While wandering she finds a boy named Kellan. Kellan definitely has some issues going on, but Darby sees something in him, and he in her. Over the years Darby visits and the two grow closer. She is light where he is dark. Although Intensely connected from the beginning, the summer visits come to a stop after a few years. After that these two both underwent some tragic and horrific things which had significant impacts on the people they became as adults.
When life brings them back into each other’s lives it is a crazy emotional ride. I loved these characterās. Their complexities, the depth to them. The things they went through, my god. It was raw and smacked you with blunt force. This book was dark mafia deliciousness and made me gasp as much as my heart raced. I was breathless with anticipation and then my heart melted over these characters. While the journey was not always pretty, that was for sure. It was necessary for them to go through it all to end up right where they did. And that my friends was where they were always meant to be. š„°
šOverall Thoughts~WOW! Phenomenal. Unforgettable. BB Easton can write ANYTHING which is why she will always be a ONE CLICK AUTHOR! For Me ALWAYS.
ā ļøTRIGGERS~This book has some content that could be disturbing to some readers. Since it is a Mafia romance it has Elements of Violence, childhood trauma, SA, attempted SA. If you would like more specific information feel free to PM me for more specific details.

The Rain Trilogyāa dark, immersive, end-of-the-world romanceāwas BBās first work of fiction. Or at least, thatās what she thought when she wrote it in 2019. Then, 2020 hit, and all of her dystopian plot points started coming true. Hoping to fix everything, BB returned with a fun, feel-good romantic comedy called Group Therapy, but alas, the world is still on fire ⦠and so is BBās desire to write intense, us-against-the-world romances. Her next release,Devil of Dublin, is a dark Irish mafia romance steeped in folklore and family secrets.
I am absolutely destroyed at the moment. This book gutted me. I wasnāt quite sure what I was going to get when I started. As this is A- my first read by this author so Iām unfamiliar with her style, which I am discovering is a tragedy in itself because OMG where has Author Brit Benson been in my life the last few years?! And B- because other than the blurb that TBH I read a while back when I signed up to read this, I went in blind not really knowing too much of what to expect. Which turned out to be the way to go anyway.
Blind is best yāall. My recommended way to go, always. Now, I had my assumptions based upon said blurb, but⦠You know what they say about assumptions and all!Ā Blurb had me thinking ā okay, this is going to be the whole āgood girl falls for an anti-hero thatās going to grow on us.ā and I can totally get on board with a good āol enemies to lovers any day of the week and twice on Sundayās. I mean it was an enemies to lovers, and this book does take place in high school, but these were anything but your typical high school sweethearts. This book was unlike ANYTHING I have ever read. Original storyline with phenomenally written, flawed characters gave us an engaging and gripping story. AĀ gritty and realness that is sure to leave you emotionally raw long after the cliffy at the end leaves you breathless. I know it did me.Ā
From the very beginning I fell for Macon hook, line, and sinker. Heās so tantalizingly toxic, and I should be ashamed that Iām so twisted because I die harder for the toxic ones. But Iām not even a little ashamed.Ā Yes, he was definitely cruel at times, he was messed up, he was for sure trouble with a capital T. But he was also misunderstood, he was damaged, he was broken, self destructive,Ā hurt, and he was so much more than what people saw him for. It wasnāt just the way people saw him, it was the way he saw himself.
He just made me feel everything. I wanted to simultaneously hit him upside his head to knock some sense into him and pull him to me and just hug him and heal all his hurts. He broke my heart, he melted my heart, he made me hot. Holy Hot Hell š„š¶š„š¶ did he ever make me hot. The ones withĀ the bad egg rep yāall, Iām telling you. They just do it for me. What is wrong with me? In real life my hubby is as straight-laced as they come.Ā Lol That’s probably why I like my fictional fellas fully fubarād! (Not completely. I do want him redeemable)Ā Ā
Lennon is amazing. Sheās got a heart of gold, she is who she is and sheās comfortable with herself. She is creative, a rule follower, and selfless friend. Honestly she gets the short end of the stick sometimes because with most of the people in her life she doesnāt stand up for herselfā¦except with Macon. He seems to be the person in the world who can get her the most fired up. The way they verbally spar. He brings out this lively feisty spirited side to her that no one else sees. I can feelĀ how she finds herself struggling with her feelings for him, it practically jumps off the pages. She is at war with everything. The things he does, the way he treats her, the things others have to say about the kind of person he is. It all weighs heavily on her mind.
But things start to happen and she finds herself around him more and more and she sees glimpses that there is so much more to him. All of these discoveries are breaking down her walls. However the more walls they tear down, the more life seems to throw back up in their way. I just connected with her character so deeply. The writer did such an amazing job I was so invested and emotional I had to take moments and remind myself that I wasnāt actually there. I didnāt need to throw down with anyone in real life to stand up for some injustice that was being done to my girl. I mean I could chuck my kindle, and almost did several times. I could cry, which I absolutely did. A lot. I could cuss, did that as well. But at the end of that chapter I pressed on. Until press on I could no moreā¦and now we wait.Ā Ā
My angsty frustration level is at an all time high. The tension between them is palpable. I live for the kind of rush this book was giving me. This book is a catastrophic collision of every emotion under the sun. Past trauma, damaged hearts, addiction, forbidden love, secrets, mistakes, lies and betrayal rips through their lives. Told in dual alternating POV, book one in the Next Live Duet will leave you grasping the edge of your seat, tears in your eyes, wanting to IM the author immediately to demand book two, before I die of impatience. Can one actually die of impatience? I feel like I just might. But in all actuality this book is fantastic. While it is full of sensitive content. It is beautifully written, the parallels to real life make it tragically devastating especially given where it has left us at this point. I am also filled with a smidge of hope. Deep in my core I believe in true love and I believe these two are inevitable soul mates. But I think they ( and us readers) will be put through a gut-wrenching journey, the likes of one which we wonāt recover from immediately( because these characters have already captured our hearts.)

šOverall Thoughts~ I am so happy I took a chance on this book and this new to me author as it will most definitely go down as one of my TOP READS of 2022! My only regret is that I am just now discovering this authorās work. I plan to quickly devour as much of her back list ASAP. I will be counting down the days until book two. Iām probably not ready for what Ms. Benson is going to do to my poor heart. But I canāt survive without knowing where we are going from here. I highly recommend EVERYONE take a chance on this author and The Love Of My Next Life. As for me⦠I will never be the same.Ā
ā ļøTRIGGERS~This book has some content that could be disturbing to some readers. Elements of child abuse, unaliving oneself, Death, addiction, mental illness. If you would like more specific information feel free to PM me for more specific details.Ā Ā Ā Ā
š¶ HEAT~ š¶š¶š¶ Definitely Hot. Had tension and lots of great āBanter OāHate.ā The buildup was worth the wait. I canāt wait to see the spice level in book 2 since I imagine the them to be older in that book.Ā Ā
š„° HEA/CLIFFYš§āāļø~HUGE CLIFFHANGER– This book is book ONE of TWO. You will not get a resolution to this coupleās story in this book. You will get a shocker and then an abrupt ending to keep you hanging! Thankfully book two is set to release in October 2022. Until then Happy Reading My Friends!Ā

OH MY WORD!Ā I love a good āolĀ heart melting single dad romance. Especially if he happens to be the doting daddy of a little girl. š Like for real. Iām legit a goner for a girl dad. š„ŗĀ Iām sure it probably has to do with the fact that I was the oldest of three girls raised by a single dad, and a through and through Daddyās girl until the day he died, so I was instantly drawn into everything about this story.
Ford Dalton, his adorable daughter Everly, and her amazingly wonderful new nanny, Sydneyās story is a different spin on the single dad/nanny trope. It delivers a fresh new engaging storyline, loveable and emotion evoking characters, picturesque settings, plenty of heart, heat and steamy goodness. Fans of single dad/nanny romance, forced proximity, age-gap, billionaire romance, or even boss/employee this will fit the bill for all of you.Ā
Ford Dalton is EVERYTHING!š„° He is sexy, smart, and successful. Heās got a big heart and a big umā¦ š„µ He is a swoony, charming, dirty talking tall drink of water. He is an amazingly devoted single father whoās entire world is wrapped around his little girl. It has always just been the two of them, other than a little help with Everly from his mom and cousin Hannah. Heās truly a family man through and through and he really hasnāt felt like he was missing out on anything⦠Until he meets Sydney. Although it seems as though she just might be the one to finally change his mind on his hesitation to relationships. When he finds out that she is the top contender in the running for the nanny position for his daughter, Ford draws the line. Either they move forward and see where their relationship can go or they stop and Syd proceeds as Everlyās nanny. There really is only one choice, the most important person of all has to be the priority.Ā
Sydney is the BEST!š She is young and vibrant. Beautiful, patient and lots of fun to be around. She radiates warmth and love and has the biggest and most unselfish heart. She is young and still working out what she wants her path in life to look like. But at the same time she is able to be mature for her age but also simultaneously youthful and brings an energy that makes those around her happy. She naturally does sweet gestures and things for people to show how much she cares for them. You canāt help but love her character and almost forget sheās a character and not my friend IRL.Ā
The Single Dad is the third standalone in the Dalton Brothers series. You donāt have to have read the others but they are good books and have crossover characters from the previous books so If you have the time I would recommend checking them out. Ford has come along and pushed his two brothers right on out and became my favorite Dalton brother. FOR SURE. This entire book had me captivated. Between the heart melting daddy/daughter moments, the effervescent and unforgettable Everly filled ones, the charming moments, the steamy moments, the fun, flirty, and fantastically witty banter filled moments.

Blurb: Betraying the most powerful man in New York wasnāt something I ever envisioned when I first started playing games with Winston Constantine. But heās engaged in far more dangerous games than ours, and his enemies are out for blood.
Winston has my heart, the Morellis have incriminating photos, and Iām left with nothing except three stepbrothers who want to hurt me and a future in doubt. I knew Winston wouldnāt be my prince charming, but that didnāt stop me from falling for him.
After all, the slippers fit, and I let myself believe Iād be dancing with Winston forever.
Until too much truth comes to light.
Until I realize instead of ruling the board, I was just a pawn.
In the end, I have only one question. When his game with me is over, will I be able to pretend as if the glass slipper wasnāt a perfect fit?

Blurb: The Devil comes with baggage, and not the kind you can lose. I was two years old when he saved me. I didnāt understand much at that age, but I remember the pale boy with hair as dark as ink, saving me from two evils. He said he would protect me; I just didnāt know he meant from himself. I was raised in the arms of evil, tailored for the Devil like a custom Armani suit, and every day he wore it like a weapon. Brantley thought by keeping me locked in his manor that it would protect me, and it did.
Until it didnāt.
As I slowly adapt to The Elite Kings Club and the dark, sinister world that exists around the outlaws in suits, I come to learn that the monster everyone fears is the very same one I crave.
Like a prized trophy, I sit on his throne⦠Something quite pretty, an object he ownsā¦
Sheās a porcelain doll, so shiny, so clean⦠Something I want to polish, but to never be seenā¦
The time has come, I am in his world⦠Now his Dea, can be admired by allā¦
The thing with porcelain is itās fragile and delicate⦠It would only take a second for me to eradicate itā¦

Blurb: Twelve years ago, our fates were sealed with a kiss.
We are all, for better or worse, doomed to love each other until death do us part. My heart belongs to Proserpina and St. Sebastianāeven if he no longer wants it. Even if she has left it behind to follow him.
Delphineās fled back home, and Becketās holy calling is in peril.
And now only Rebecca and I remain at Thornchapel to face the unknown.
The door is open. The door that shouldnāt exist; the door that people have died to close. I donāt feel like the lord of the manor…I donāt feel like a king or a wild god. I am a friend and a boyfriend and a brotherāand a failure at being all of these things. But the door doesnāt care about my guilt. It only cares about the sacrifice Iāll make to close it.
As the bruising dark of Samhain approaches, so does the fate of our circle, of Thornchapel and the village and the valley beyond it. And I must don the crown, because one thing is still true, even if I must face it alone.
Here at Thornchapel, the kings must go to the door.
Here at Thornchapel, all kings must die.

Blurb: He was my foster brother. He swore to protect me. He failed. They all failed.
Iām an open box of passeĢ photographs, snapped in chaste daylight, but filtered in sepia. Iām the past that he tried to forget, and he was the future I needed. When he left six years ago, I screamed for him every night. But then it all stopped. My screams were suddenly muffled by cruelty, and further coaxed by pain.
But he has come back. Heās not the cute big brother I had a furtive crush on, or the bad boy, rich brat that I hated to love.
Heās the ruthless vice president of Wolf Pack MC, and he doesnāt answer to Royce Kane anymore.

Blurb: They might be richer than gods, but theyāre morally bankrupt.
As far as the boys who run Americaās most exclusive international academy are concerned, Iām an unwelcome interloper, an inconvenience, and theyāre determined to make my life a living hell.
When Wren Jacobi sets eyes on Wolf Hall Academyās newest inductee, all he sees is an easy mark. A reserved little girl with a target painted on her back. He knows nothing of my troubled past, though. Nothing of my motherās suspicious death, or the horrific treatment Iāve had to endure at the hands of my psychotic father.
And he has no idea of the lengths that I, unassuming little Elodie Stillwater, will go to in order to break the savage beast who dreams of breaking me first.
Thereās a wolf stalking the forests that surround my new school. Little does he know⦠There are far scarier predators lurking out there in the dark.
Excerpt: I try not to react when she starts singing, her voice sweet and bright, always a second offbeat or very slightly out of tune, but my insides are rioting. She doesnāt care if she doesnāt hit every single note. She sings for the sheer enjoyment of it, laughing at me giddily when she catches me looking at her out of the corner of my eye. Sheās everything good and light in this world and being in her presence is like emerging from a prison cell after so many long, dark years and finally feeling the sun on my face.
Iām so broken and corrupted that itās always felt like the rough, jagged-edged pieces of me would never fit back together again. I never even dared think such a thought. But somehow, over the past few weeks, Elodieās been putting me back together…and she hasnāt even been trying.
