My Review

Holy Cow friends.. get you some tissues ready.  Always Meant to Be is about to plow right over every feel you have and shred them to bits. From the moment you crack this story you will be in for one heck of an emotionally poignant and perfectly unforgettable book journey.  Secrets, lies, hidden touches and frustration galore. Every moment of their inevitable yet forbidden love will tear you up. Scene after delicious scene intertwines forlorn feelings, heat filled stolen moments and plenty of angst and aggravation. 

At first glance it seems like both of these characters have the perfect lives. Vander comes from an extremely wealthy family with a very successful and influential father. But behind closed doors is family is anything but the picture perfect persona they present to the public. But Vander has it bad for his best friend’s mother, Kendall and wants to do whatever he has to do to prove to her that they are meant for one another. 

Kendall married her high school sweetheart, had three children whom she absolutely adores and built herself a career. But her home life is a facade put on for the world by her “perfect husband” to portray the ultimate dream family. He is anything but a picture perfect husband and poor Kendall is lonely and suffering silently to protect her children and keep a family intact for them. This book is beautifully written. It will burrow down into your soul and plant itself there. It’s sexy and intriguing. It’s got a relatable storyline that makes you feel every emotion along with these characters. The pushes, and  pulls. The obstacles they must overcome and the fear of losing everything in order to be with the other half of your soul. I am still feeling this book days later. Vander is swoony and smooth. He’s so talented and mature far beyond his years. Kendall is so loyal and giving and she deserves so much better than the life she has. She deserves everything good in life and Vander wants to give it to her and much more. Will they ever have the opportunity to give into what has Always Meant to Be?

“You belong with someone your own age,” she counters after a few intense beats. She pulls her hand away from my face and averts her gaze. “You deserve to find someone young and pretty without any complications. I want you to be happy. I want that for you so much.” 

“My happy place is you.” I reel her into my body, clamping my hands on her lower back to stop her from wriggling free. “You make me happy. I don’t want any other girl. I never have, and I never will. I only want you.” 

“Vander, please.” Tipping her chin up, she stares at me with tears in her eyes. “Please forget about me and find someone else.” 

I shake my head. “It won’t happen. I can’t tell my heart how to feel.” Taking her hand, I place it over my chest, hoping she can feel the steady thrumming of my heart. “This is yours, Kendall, whether you want it or not. It doesn’t matter if you don’t claim it, it will always beat only for you.”
