My Review
Oh my Holy Heartbreak and then Heartmending!! This book y’all! This freaking book will definitely be one of my top reads of 2022. It was phenomenal. Each exquisitely thought out and executed detail captivated me. While this book was a slow burn I was entranced from the very beginning. Just the mere premise had me hooked and I was quickly wondering just how angsty was this ride that Meagan Brandy was about to take me on going to be. The answer… more angsty than I could have imagined, in all the best I want to pull my own hair out and toss my kindle across the room, kind of ways!
This story is Ari’s journey. Her quest to her HEA. One we are most definitely wondering if she will ever actually see. It’s very much a coming into your own, beautiful yet gut wrenching journey of self discovery. I love Ari. I love the transformation of her character as a result of her experiences. Oh how I cried for her. I cheered for her, I hoped for her, celebrated for her and was broken right along with her. But even in the most devastating part of her journey I felt despair right along with her. I know for her to end up where she did it was all necessary to her story and I’m so grateful for that experience. I would never trade the feelings you get from a deep, cleansing therapeutic cry. The kind that comes from a book that fits you before it puts you back together. *insert sigh of complete contentment*
Now, I will not name the H, but I will say he is my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE MB HERO EVER!! And let’s be honest she has some absolutely amazing guys to choose from. If I walked into “Build-A-Book-Boyfriend” today and made him for myself I would have picked everything Meagan had going for him, but then she had more that I didn’t even know were options. He’s perfection personified!! He’s gorgeous, talented, caring, sweet, swoony, and loyal in such an unselfish way to the extent I have never seen. I’m tearing up just thinking about it.
He is EVERYTHING!
If you love angst. If you love new adult, sports romance and drama. If you are as obsessed as me with amazing secondary characters and a story that sticks with you long after you shut the pages, I urge you to read this. Will you read this? “Say you Swear”
