Oh my heavens!! THIS BOOK! GAH! The deliciousness y’all! I need more now! Reese and Fisher are fire and just a straight up force of feelings overload. This book totally crosses the lines of a multitude of tropes, each one in itself fantastic, but combined made for an explosive and uniquely magical start to Reese and Fisher’s journey.
Fisher is gorgeous, sexy, rugged and irresistible. He is the last person that should be occupying eighteen year old Reese’s mind, but that’s just what he does. Despite his close friendship with her mother he still finds himself inexplicably drawn to her as well. I loved these characters so much. There is something so intriguing about the doe eyed innocence of Reese. She is discovering who she is out from under the strict umbrella she’s been under for the last five years.
With Fisher, there is just something so unapologetically honest and blunt and that just makes you loud out loud. It’s so addictive and refreshing.
I’m obsessed with the ways Jewel gives us real and relatable situations to bring about perfect opportunities to open her up and allow her to experience some of the most wonderfully new and exciting things to ever happen to her. She’s growing and changing as a person and it’s beautiful and powerful to immerse yourself into her journey. Her re-establishing her relationship with her mother, something brewing with Fisher, both different but so critical to building the layers to this complex and unputdownable story.
The push and pull was top notch in this book. I was yearning and burning at the steaminess between these two. So.Freakin.HOTT! How exciting it is to know we are only halfway through their journey! FYI…I need The Lost Fisherman more than I need air.
I would give this book TEN STARS if I could! This book was refreshingly unexpected yet something still managed to land it in one of my top reads of 2021 spots. I just really connected with this book, the characters and the way Reese is just starting to come into herself. So many things about this story takes me back to eighteen year old me. You need to read this and start your own down memory lane and remember the overwhelming unbeatable feelings of first lust and first love. Because this book will transport you back there within the first few pages. So Happy Reading, my friends! 😘
