Manhattan, a standalone in the Becker Brothers series, a small town, country, friends-to-lovers romance, is LIVE!
Blurb
The fire… the guitar… THE FEELS!
Everyone knows not to fall in love with your best friend.
But when your best friend is Michael Becker, it’s impossible not to.
He’s everything our town knows a Becker brother to be: devastatingly handsome, charming as a thief, and the icing on the cake — a sentimental musician who’s never without his guitar.
And he was mine. At least, that’s what I’d convinced myself.
Our bond was born in elementary school, strengthened by circumstance and the promise to always be there for each other, no matter what. And the best thing about my life was being friends with Michael Becker.
Until it was the worst.
I watched him fall in love with someone else, and helped patch him back up when she left him behind. But when he drops the bomb that he’s moving to New York, I realize it’s my last chance to tell him how I feel. And I ask him to make one more promise.
One summer. One list of adventures to remind him that our small town has more to offer than memories of the girl who left him behind.
One last chance to tell him I’m in love with him.
And I’m just dumb enough to believe that maybe he could love me, too.

My Review

I was absolutely counting the days for Mikey Becker’s story. I’m in love with them Becker boys and I couldn’t wait to read about our eighteen year old, sweet faced baby Becker boy who’s high school sweetheart, Bailey Baker, up and left to go to Nashville to become the next big country music sensation. Leaving our precious Michael behind and heartbroken. Mikey is sensitive and sweet. He’s plays the guitar, but if you’ve read Neat you know what happens with that a little.

The whole breakup, It’s was too much and he needs to get out of this town of Stratford, so he announces he’s moving to New York at the end of the summer after his high school graduation. Leaving his family and best friend, Kylie with jaws dropped and tears in their eyes.

Kylie Nelson has been best friends with Michael Becker since she was eight years old. Bonded by tragedy. They have been through everything together, all the awkward ups and downs of growing up. She has also been secretly longing for being more than friends for many of her teen years as well. She had to endure not only watching him meet and fall in love with Bailey Baker, but as his best friend her duty was to give advice and suggestions that required a “girls point of view.” So she sucked it up being the amazing friend she is, and helped Bailey get and then eventually hurt “her guy.”

Kylie was beautiful, and funny and giving and loving. All these things she didn’t even realize, which made me love her character even more. She had suffered a great loss just like Mikey Becker and yet she spent her life doing things for other people. The way she cared for her dad was so sweet and even when Mikey was hard to handle and being a complete turd she was there for him and his family. Two of his brothers working at the Scooter Whiskey Distillery and one as a football coach.

Mikey’s announcement shook her as much as his family. So she decided then and there that this was her shot, that finally she would put herself out there and go after what she wanted. She was going to try to make Michael remember all the things he loved the most about home, then maybe he wouldn’t leave and she would finally have her chance to be with him. Would her plan work or will it backfire? Would Mikey ever see her for more than just a friend?

I loved this slow burn, super sweet, friends to lovers romance. This story compared to the other Becker Boy’s books was more tame in the bedroom scenes and was more of a slow burn and the angst and tension between the main characters wasn’t so off the charts in your face as it was in On the Rocks and Neat. BUT, this was still just as much of a five star read for me. With Michael and Kylie’s age the slow burn and sweet bedroom scenes were perfect. Michael was so respectful and gentle with Kylie and it was written in a way that you could tell that he appreciated the gift he had been given and he would cherish it. GAH! It was the sweetest. Yes, they were young but they had built such a solid foundation with their friendship, it was inevitable they would end up together. READ THIS BOOK Y’ALL!

My cr8zysockbookblock blog wrap up for this book! ⭐️⭐️⭐⭐⭐️- The Becker Boys and the girls that have captured their hearts have become an obsession for me. I one-click these books so fast. I live for the family meals around Mama Becker’s table and the banter between this rowdy bunch of country boys. They’re as down home and delicious as their Mama’s cooking, and true southern gentlemen. If you haven’t met them yet you’re missing out. 🔥🔥🔥🔥- Sweetness overload! Mikey and Kylie were Sweet Love-Makin’ Perfection! ♥️😍 🌪Cliffhanger Warning-No cliffhanger! This ending was EVERYTHING!
