My Review
Dr. Dan is K. Webster’s quick read taboo treat about eighteen year old Lauren Englewood and forty-five year old Dr. Daniel Venable. About one doctor’s quest to toe the ethical line, and his struggle to not only heal his sick patient but to make this sweet and innocent girl his. FOREVER!
Lauren first meets Dr. Dan when she is brought into the ER on ST. Patty’s day after she gets sick at a party. She is initially short with him because he is the doctor treating her and wants to run some tests on her. Tests she is purposely avoiding. After another encounter in the ER and a chance run-in at the gym, Lauren starts to notice that Dr. Dan is extremely hot and she wants to know him on a more personal man to woman level. No longer opposed to the Doctor/Patient only contact. She quickly realizes that Daniel is all she could ever possibly want in her life, but there are a lot of fears she is dealing with. She is hiding her health problems from everyone. How will her Dad and Brother respond when they discover shes been keeping not one but two very big life concerning secrets from them?
Dr Daniel Venable had waited all his life for his “Person”. Forty-five years to be exact! He was almost instantly sure that person was Lauren. He knew she was young, but it really made no difference to him what-so-ever! HE didnt care what other people thought. He loved being a doctor and he loved Lauren being His. All he wanted to do was make her happy and help her get better. How will Daniel cope when He can’t medically fix what’s wrong?
This is a quick read. I read it in just a few hours. Now, I will be completely honest and say that due to the genre label this one got as ‘Taboo” because of the subject of the doctor/patient and the huge age gap, I was expecting this to be a much dirtier read. Don’t get me wrong, I love K. Webster, like l DEVOUR her books, but this one just fell a little flat for me. I do think it was only because our beautiful Lauren was so sick and unable to be the vibrant girl she would be had she not been sick. I really believe had she been well , we would have had that dirty,dirty mind-blowingly explosive sex between the H and h that we were expecting. Now, with that said, I think K. Webster wrote it perfectly for this book though. I think Dan is most definitely alpha AF and would show no mercy in the sack. However he would never hurt his sweet angel, and she was simply way too sick for most of this book. We did have love scenes. They were hot, and relatively tame in comparison to some of her other works. But they were sensual and loving between Dan and Lauren with some dirty talkin’ thrown in there. Most of this book focuses on Lauren and her illness and how they are responding to that. It is a great love story. There really isn’t a whole lot of angst or anything. It’s just a love story for a couple that had some speed bumps on their road to HEA!

★★★★- I Love K. Webster. This book was pretty sweet for one of her stories. I enjoyed this book. While I wasn’t blown away ,I did enjoy Dr. Dan and Lauren’s Story.
🔥🔥🔥- Due to the health problems of our h in the book there weren’t a lot of scenes. They were sweet, enough heat with some dirty talk.
🌪Cliffhanger Warning-NO CLIFFHANGER This book had HEA that I think will make everyone happy.
