Oh Sweet Baby in a Manger!!This book Y’all,  this book! I’m still trying to nurse my poor sweet southern heart back  from the beating Monica James put it through. I’m still fragile! I imagine I will be for quite a minute. I can assure you, this trilogy has been unlike anything I have ever read before. I’m left in a cloud of so many emotions. I’m sad that Saint and Willow’s story is over. Yet glad that it’s over. Their story is so devastatingly tragic. I cried more during this book then I have in a long time. I literally had to stop at a couple of spots and call a book friend and say

“ I just need a moment.” 

I just needed a moment, friends. 

See that’s the thing…by this third book it had become more than just an investment for me. I was obsessed with these characters, there was no way I couldn’t not know what was going to happen. They had been through so much in those first two books that I was ready for them to just show up and serve up some justice sandwiches in this book. Now… is that what happened? No, if only it were that easy. 

I’m not sure I have ever had a book break my heart so much! Y’all that’s saying A LOT !I read a shit ton!  I was simultaneously suffering along with the characters as they were going through all of the heartbreaking and traumatic experiences. The things these characters went through are the worst of worst nightmares. The details Monica put into her descriptions, while devastating were what sets this book miles ahead of others in this genre. It was enough to completely gut you while  making sure you are still able to stomach reading it. So don’t worry. When I say I had to take a break, it was a heartache break!! I just loved Saint and Willow. I loved their love for one another. They both burned with such fierce sacrificial love. That’s what made their story so beautiful, yet so tragic. There were several characters like that as it turns out. There were these gut-wrenching moments between Willow and Saint where words weren’t even needed. Just a mere look at each other. GAH! It’s almost unexplainable! You just have to read these books. 

I truly can’t say too much more. To do so would give away parts of this book and it would be such a disservice to both Monica who has worked so hard to conclude this story in the most amazing and heartbreakingly beautiful way. It would also do a disservice to you as the reader. Trust me when I tell you, you’re gonna want to experience all the emotional highs and lows this book journey will take you on. It will be a journey to remember and IT.WILL.BE.EPIC!! While this is the end of the road for our precious Willow and Saint. A road that was long and treacherous. It was  littered with blood, sweat, tears and casualties. At many times you often wonder will you in fact get the HEA you desired for them? As I said before, they loved each other so sacrificially and unselfishly. 

What’s that old saying about “ if you love something set it free?”
